2007 will be the 16th Anniversary of the Coconino Horse Trials, located at the Fort Tuthill Fairgrounds in Flagstaff, AZ.
The 2007 competition season promises to attract competitors and spectators from all over the western United States to compete in and watch the Olympic sport of 3-Day Eventing, from Beginner Novice to the more challenging Intermediate level. The 2007 season offers three competitions, May 19 & 20, July 14 & 15, and July 20-22nd. The shows goal is to create a fun and rewarding competitive opportunity for our west coast competitors.
The shows offer the "Coconino Challenge" - the champions of each level will receive exciting prizes and national recognition. Last year they awarded over $4000 in prizes to the Coconino Challenge winners.
This year, they added a new opportunity for competitors. The third horse trial will feature a Training 3-Day (also known as a "1/2*") that includes all the traditional 3-day eventing phases, including the thrilling "steeplechase." Competitors from California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Texas are expected to participate in the excitement.
