Sandy Collier


Born in Massachusetts and raised in New England, Sandy Collier's love of horses began at an early age. She competed in her first horse show at the age of 6, and then continued to compete in events throughout her school years. Sandy Collier's successful horse show record is reflective of her hard work, dedication, talent, positive attitude and integrity as a horse trainer. She was the first and only woman horse trainer to win the prestigious NRCHA (National Reined Cow Horse Association) World Champion Snaffle Bit Futurity. She also won an NRCHA World Champion Snaffle Bit Futurity Reserve Co-Championship in addition to being a regular Finalist there annually. She has been a NRCHA Stallion Stakes Champion, an NRHA Limited Reserve Champion, and an AQHA World Champion. She has ranked among the year's top five reined cow horse all-ages, all-divisions riders, and is ranked in the top 10 for NRCHA earnings. She was also a regular finalist in the cutting futurities when she showed cutters.

  • 2001 National Reined Cow Horse Association World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Reserve Champion, Diamond J Star
  • 2002 American Quarter Horse Association World Champion Junior Working Cow Horse, Sheeza Shinette
  • 2003 Idaho Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Reserve Champion, Hesa Lota Reminic
  • Voted in 2006 & 2007's Best Horse Trainer in Santa Ynez
  • 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award, awarded by Monte Roberts Jan 19, 2008
